In November of 2010 the Federal Food and Drug Administration  recalled all  propoxyphene related  drugs  which are  opioid pain killers used to treat mild and moderate pain.  Propoxyphene is sold under the names Darvocet and Darvon.  The Darvocet Recall was necessary due to data demonstrating and increased risk of heart damage even when used at therapeutic doses.  A recent study reported that when propoxyphene was taken at therapeutic doses, there was a significant change in electrical activity of the heart in terms of the QRST intervals creating an increase risk of abnormal heart rhythms.  Interestingly, this drug was removed from overseas markets a long time ago.  Due the Darvocet Recall you might want to speak with a Darvocet Lawyer if you have experienced heart problems while taking the drug.

New clinical studies showing that these medications put patients at risk of extreme or even fatal heart rhythms forced the FDA to issue a Darvocet Recall.  These clinical results as well as other data made the FDA conclude that the risks of these drugs by far outweighed the benefits.  The FDA is informing healthcare providers to terminate prescribing propoxyphene to their patients, and patients who are currently using Darvocet (or generic) should contact their doctors as soon as possible to talk about changing to a different pain reliever.  If you or a loved one has taken Darvocet and suffered serious side effects, you should contact a Darvocet Lawyer for a consultation.

A Darvocet  Lawyer can get you the Compensation You Deserve

Darvocet contains propoxyphene and acetaminophen (main ingredient of Tylenol) and is used for mild and moderate pain as well as before, during, and after surgery.  It was the 12thmost prescribed drug in 2004 with almost 23 million prescriptions written.  In February of 2006, the Public Citizen group working with Darvocet Lawyers asked the FDA to ban both Darvocet and Darvon. More than 10,000 deaths have been reported with the use of Darvocet and Darvon.  The Darvocet Recall has not come too soon.  If you have been injured by Darvocet, it is in your best interest to contact a Darvocet Lawyer.

If you have experienced heart arrhythmia you should seek legal counsel.  Due to this Darvocet Recall, you should contact a Darvocet Lawyer to find out your legal rights and see if you qualify for a Darvocet lawsuit.   You may qualify for compensation for pain and suffering, lost wages and medical costs.
